Hydrogeology

CEA personnel have extensive experience using “state of the art” ground water flow and contaminant transport computer models.

Once the horizontal and vertical extent of ground water impacts are determined and a conceptual hydrogeological model of a site developed, CEA uses the appropriate ground water computer program as a tool to predict the future movement of ground water impacts at a site. Computer modeling results are used to determine future ground water and surface water exposure point concentrations for risk assessments.

CEA also uses ground water flow models to determine the amount of ground water discharge to surface water bodies, evaluate ground water resources for public water supplies and wellhead protection area delineation.
